Optional Work Until April 6th

Hi Room 3 Families,

I thought I would post some optional work for your child to do until Monday, April 6th. Please see the list of optional work below:

  • RAZ Kids Reading and Quizzes
    • I will be giving direct feedback to each child through the app on their reading 
  • Draw a blueprint of your sustainable house 
    • Extension: build with LEGO or download Minecraft Education Edition App and build sustainable house on there 
  • Write a journal entry about the most fun thing you have done since social distancing! Record yourself on a video and post it on IRIS for Ms. Fournier to watch.

I hope this helps! I can't wait to begin online learning next week and reconnect with your children. I miss them all so much!

September 30 - October 4th Terry Fox Run Congratulations Royal Oak students and staff! Together we ran over 1180 km and raised $674 to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation!!!!! We are awesome!!!! I would also like to send out a HUGE  THANK YOU  to our amazing parent volunteers! We appreciate everything that you do to help us run school events like this one. THANK YOU!! Another HUGE  THANK YOU  to  Royal Oak Sobeys  for donating Oranges so that every student could enjoy a healthy snack after their run. Literacy This week in literacy students wrote about Orange shirt Day and the importance of recognizing it. We read the book "When I Was Eight" and then students reflected with the guiding questions;  What is Orange Shirt Day? and What does it mean to me? September 27 Terry Fox Run

On Friday, September 27 th , Royal Oak School and William D. Pratt School will be participating in the Terry Fox Run.   Students will gather on the field between the two schools to take part in the annual 30-minute run, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00am.     Students attending afternoon Kindergarten are welcome to attend, if they are accompanied by a supervising adult. On this day please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather (including running shoes).  If the weather is poor, students will walk inside the school during their PE class time. We are encouraging students to wear Royal Blue to show their school spirit! We are asking that each child donate a “Toonie for Terry” for the Terry Fox Foundation during the week of September 23 rd -27 th .   All parents/guardians who are interested in joining their child/children in this event are more than welcome.
