LITERACY:

POETRY:

Onomatopoeia... what is it?
Onomatopoeia is when a word describes a sound and actually mimics the sound of the object or action it refers to when it is spoken. Onomatopoeia appeals to the sense of hearing and writers use it to bring a story or poem to life in the reader's head. It can also help to add a touch of fun or emotion to a piece.

STORIES AND WRITING PROMPTS:

'The Word Collector'
Students discussed the significance of words, and why we are individually drawn to different words. Students were challenged to read books and collect their own words. We will then sort and group words into various categories!
